Position Summary
Dallas College is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative leader with a proven track record of enhancing academic quality, faculty excellence, diversity, equity and inclusion, and student success in a dynamic higher education environment. The Dean, Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation
1. Plans, organizes, designs, and coordinates the college’s institutional assessment and effectiveness efforts across the Schools of Dallas College
2. Serves as the college Accreditation Liaison Officer and provides oversight for the monitoring of programmatic accreditation efforts.
3. Assists the Senior Vice Provost of Academic Services by providing research, analysis and organizational support for assessment, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation
4. Working alongside with faculty and academic leaders, organizes, coordinates, and monitors on-going academic assessment and institutional effectiveness activities with an intent focus on improving the social and economic mobility of students
5. Implements key accreditation agendas and recommendations; articulates accreditation activities with the College as necessary; and provides regular progress reports to the College and administration.
6. Supports and collaborates on program review and other key initiatives in institutional planning, institutional accountability, effectiveness, curriculum management, and general decision-making.
7. Works closely with the Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Portfolio Management to ensure assessment efforts are informing curricular decisions.
Additional responsibilities include assisting and advising the Provost in matters pertaining to professional and technical education, and actively engaging with community and employer partners for the purpose of creating new partnerships, responsive programs, and revenue opportunities.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
• Be proficient in the use of quantitative and qualitative data and modelling to drive systemic and strategic innovations
• Responds appropriately to issues in a dynamic rapidly changing educational/economic environment
• An understanding of emerging and sector-standard tools that support institution-wide assessment activity and reporting
• Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity and equity
Knowledge of the education process, instruction, role of faculty, curriculum, student services, student learning outcomes, assessment, and accreditation.
• Understand research and planning methods and techniques to include both qualitative and quantitative processes.
• Adept in software and models including current technical aspects of data mining, information management and other related web-based technologies that assist in assessment and accreditation activities.
• Knowledge of computer software associated with research, such as spreadsheet, statistical software, data warehousing, databases, inter/intranet, operating systems, and networks, etc.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and reports.
• Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of diversity and equity.

Physical Requirements

Minimum Knowledge and Experience
• Master’s degree required
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible teaching, administrative and educational leadership experience
• Five (5) years higher education experience focused on teaching and learning
• Demonstrated successful experience in teaching and learning and faculty professional development
• Experience in working collaboratively with faculty and academic leaders in comprehensive assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts
• Demonstrated distinguished record of teaching, scholarly publications, and/or creative accomplishments that exhibit commitment to academic excellence
• Current and valid Texas driver’s license required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and ensure a consistent and efficient assessment plan that evaluates institutional effectiveness (IE) within the areas of instruction, student support, and administrative units.
• Prepare analytical reports and recommendations that support data-informed decision making on assessment and IE efforts.
• Interpret, apply, and explain plans, research findings, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Communicate assessment, accreditation, and IE strategies in a transparent, practical, and relatable manner to ensure buy-in and support from a broad constituency
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with academic, student success, and administrative areas.
• Plan and organize work to meet schedules and timelines.
• Organize and chair meetings, lead workshops, facilitate group discussions, and involve faculty and staff in idea generation, goal setting, and decision making that support a meaningful assessment and IE approach for the College.
• Exercise leadership in the areas of research, planning and institutional effectiveness.
• Ability to research, collect and analyze data to make decisions.
• Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to needs of the Institute
