The WellMed Senior Services Receptionist is responsible for all reception and front offeice duties, including attending to visitors and responding to telephonic and in-person inquiries. This position also assists other WellMed Senior Services staff members with various clerical duties as necessary, including photocopying, faxing, distributing mail and filing.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides general administrative and clerical support, including answering telephones, and screening and directing calls
  • Answers phones courteously and promptly and prioritizes the distribution of messages in a timely manner
  • Greets members as they enter and depart the senior center
  • Directs members, customers, and guests to correct destination
  • Registers new members and schedules appointments
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the reception area
  • Receives mail and distributes accordingly
  • Maintains a pleasant, front office demeanor
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of customer and/or clerical experience
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifcations:

  • 2+ years of customer service and/or clerical
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds 
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing 
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
