The Intersect Group is seeking a Software Asset Management Analyst for our client in Richardson, Texas. The Software Asset Management Analyst will be responsible for onboarding new software assets as well as maintaining, reviewing utilization, and reporting on existing assets throughout the company. The SAM Analyst will also be involved in analyzing trends to provide recommendations on cost savings and warn of potential compliance risk to the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and report software asset reconciliation to ensure compliance.
  • Manage day to day requests from end-users to fulfill software licensing needs and answer queries.
  • Process and maintain software licensing documentation as a part of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) program.
  • Onboard new software assets - including data review and normalization, collecting proof of entitlement documentation, reviewing use rights and creating entitlement records.
  • Work with ITAM team members to develop processes and procedures to automate the collection, storage and reporting of key software data so that the products can be managed across the enterprise in an effective manner.
  • Monitor software usage to identify underutilized licenses and make recommendations for reclamation.
  • Coordinate with Procurement for purchasing and receiving of all Software Assets.
  • Assist with processes for control and inventory management to track accountability, identification, location, software maintenance contracts and lifecycle status.
  • Assist with maturing a robust Software Lifecycle Management program to identify End of Life dates and manage the exception procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of software procurement or licensing experience
  • Experience working with Software Asset Management tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow Software, SCCM, etc.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure and End User computing licensing requirements, license types, and use rights.
  • Familiarity with analyzing End User License Agreements (EULAs)
  • Understanding of license requirements for publishers such as Microsoft, Adobe, VMware, Cisco, Oracle, etc.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Detailed oriented with a focus on data accuracy
  • Ability work independently as well as collaborate with teams across the organization
  • Ability to work well with aggressive deadlines
  • ITIL, IAITAM CSAM and or CHAMP certifications a plus
